Help & FAQ
Quick answers about your account, the app, and your connection.
What is Unblockr VPN?
Unblockr is a consumer VPN for phones and tablets. It routes your traffic through an encrypted tunnel to exit servers in supported regions, so your browsing isn't visible to your ISP or to the Wi-Fi network you're on. One subscription, one tap to connect.
How do I sign in?
After you complete a purchase on the website, you'll see a 16-digit security code on the confirmation page and receive it by email. Open the app, tap Sign in, and enter that code (with or without spaces — the app accepts both). That's it — no passwords.
Where do I get my security code?
Two places:
- The "You have an active Unblockr VPN account" page that opens immediately after checkout — there's a Copy code button.
- The receipt email we send to the address you used at checkout.
Save it somewhere safe. The same code keeps working — you can re-enter it after a reinstall or on a new device.
I lost my code. What now?
Check the inbox of the email address you used at checkout — the code was sent there as a receipt. If you can't find it, email [email protected] from that same address and we'll resend it.
Does the VPN cover every app on my device?
Yes. The tunnel is device-wide, so every app and browser goes through it while the VPN is on. Some third-party services detect VPN traffic and limit what they will do while you're connected — we can't guarantee how any particular third-party service behaves. If one misbehaves, turn the VPN off for that session.
How do I change which region I connect through?
On the home screen, tap the location card under the power button (it shows the current country and a Change pill). Pick a region from the list, then tap the power button to reconnect.
What is "Fastest" mode?
Fastest picks the lowest-latency exit server for your device automatically. It's the best choice for everyday privacy on Wi-Fi. Pick a country manually when you'd rather control which region your traffic exits from.
Can I use it on public Wi-Fi?
That's what it's built for. On hotel, airport, and cafe networks your traffic is encrypted between your device and our exit server, so the network operator and others on the same Wi-Fi can't read it. Turn it on before you connect to a network you don't control.
How does the free trial work?
The 3-day trial gives you full access to the service. You're not charged today — billing starts at the end of the trial, and you can cancel any time before then to avoid the charge.
How do I cancel my subscription?
It depends where you bought it:
- Web purchase (Stripe / Apple Pay on the website): open the activation email or the activated page, tap Manage subscription, then Cancel. You'll keep access until the end of the current billing period.
- iPhone / iPad: open Settings → your name → Subscriptions → Unblockr VPN → Cancel.
- Android: open Google Play → profile icon → Payments & subscriptions → Subscriptions → Unblockr VPN → Cancel.
Can I get a refund?
Refunds for in-app purchases (iOS, Android) are handled by Apple and Google — request through their support flows, they'll usually process it within a few days. For web purchases, email [email protected] with your order email and we'll review.
Can I use it on more than one device?
Yes. Sign in on each device with the same security code. The current plan covers personal use across your devices; please don't share your code outside your household.
What payment methods are accepted?
On the website: any major credit/debit card via Stripe, plus Apple Pay on iPhone Safari. In the iOS app: whatever payment methods you have set up in your Apple ID. In the Android app: whatever you have in Google Play.
Do you log my browsing or traffic?
No. We do not log the contents of your traffic, the websites you visit, your DNS queries, or your originating IP address against the destinations you connect to. We do keep operational logs (account events, payment records, aggregate bandwidth) needed to run the service. Full details are in the Privacy Policy.
Why does the app ask for VPN permission?
iOS and Android both require explicit permission before any app can route the device's traffic through a tunnel. That permission is what allows the app to function as a VPN. You can revoke it any time from the system Settings — once revoked, no traffic is routed through us.
What encryption do you use?
Sessions to our infrastructure use TLS 1.3 with modern cipher suites. The tunnel itself uses authenticated, encrypted transport — your traffic is not visible to your ISP, your Wi-Fi network, or anyone observing the path between you and our exit servers.
The app won't connect.
A few quick checks:
- Make sure your device has working internet (try loading a website without the VPN on).
- Toggle the power button off and on to retry.
- Switch to a different region — the one you picked may be temporarily congested.
- On iOS, go to Settings → General → VPN & Device Management and confirm the Unblockr profile is present and enabled.
- Reinstall the app and sign in again with your security code.
If none of that works, email [email protected] with the device model and OS version.
The connection feels slow.
Most slowness comes from picking a region that's far from you. Try a closer country, or use Fastest mode — perceived slowness is usually a routing problem, not a bandwidth one.
My code isn't working.
Codes are 16 digits — make sure you've entered all of them. Spaces and dashes are accepted; the app strips them automatically. If the code still doesn't work, your subscription may have lapsed. Sign in to Manage Subscription from your activation email to check status, or email [email protected].
How do I contact support?
Email [email protected]. Include the email address you used at checkout, the device you're on (iPhone 15 / Pixel 8 / etc.), and a short description of the issue. We typically respond within one business day.
